Did you all know there was an open race for adults, masters and junior highers at Footlocker Midwest in Racine? This seems like a good idea. It generates fan
support and revenue. It is just an hour from where I live in Chicago, but I think I will be heading home to Indiana to visit family. After seeing how well my
old high school team did (Columbia City), I feel inspired to get back on the grass.
Would any other high school invitationals consider having an open race to generate revenue and fan support? An invitational in Chicago does this, the Loyola Lakefront Invite; it's a huge college/high school/junior high/elementary school/open invite. In Chicago, the racing scene is monopolized by the marathon and road racing. As for me, I am going to get on the track next Spring to try to break my high school 1600 PR. Next Fall, maybe, I'll lace up my cross-country spikes again and run Footlocker and maybe Club Nationals.
What cross races are there in Northeast Indiana for us old folks?
