Former Indiana legislator Oxley charged with misrepresenting himself
Associated PressINDIANAPOLIS - An arrest warrant has been issued for Indiana's 2008 Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, who is charged with
misrepresenting himself as a state legislator to avoid arrest for public intoxication.
A spokesman for the Marion County prosecutor's office says former state Rep. Dennie Oxley II was to have surrendered by 1 p.m. on Wednesday but had not
turned himself in by mid-evening.
Earlier Wednesday, prosecutors filed misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and impersonating a public servant against Oxley, who was found drunk with a
21-year-old legislative intern at a downtown gas station last week.
A telephone message seeking comment was left at Oxley's home in the southern Indiana town of English, about 50 miles west of Louisville.
