I call her bluff on being a runner for two reasons: One she isn't wearing a Timex 50 lap memory watch....look at what she has some gold fancy watch. Number
two: how do you think she can run with her hair flapping around? She needs to put it up or cut it shorter to convince me that she is a serious runner.

I get a kick out of politicians who pass themselves off as runners. | #3 | ||

I mean, they see it as the best way to show that they are "fit". Clinton (aka Thunder Thighs) suddenly became a runner once he moved into the White
House) and Jimmy Carter ran in that 5K, remember? Of course, he either dropped out or started walking.

Yea it's pretty corny. I remember reading an article analyzing George Bush's form and talked about how he ran all the time. No way.

Posted on Thursday, September 04, 2008 5:13:37 PM by Plutarch So intent is the MSM in finding negative stories on Sarah Palin, that they just happen to overlook her amazing accomplishments. Sarah Palin not only finished Anchorage's 2005 Humpy's Marathon , but with a blazing time of 3:59:36, fourth in her age group, and only 9 1/2 minutes off the qualifying time for the Boston Marathon . |

Do you think she actually ran it? It's not just Sarah Palin that does it. Like Runningwriter said, Clinton and Carter tried to pass themselves off as
runners, as did Bush. Are you shocked that a politician would do anything to try to win favor with the Joe Six Pack? haha, it was a joke anyway, lighten up. I
could care less if Ex-Governor Palin is a runner. I just don't think she has time with preparing for her 2012 Presidential race. No pun intended.

I would rather have a politician stretch the truth about their running than most of the other things they tend to stretch the truth about. (Regardless of
race, religion, politics or gender)

If you stretch the truth about your running (or golf, as Clinton did repeatedly), then you'd stretch the truth about anything and everything.
I'll never forget John Kerry, when running for President 5 years ago, said in an interview that he'd run the Boston Marathon. A reporter asked him what year. He couldn't recall. I mean, if you've run the Boston Marathon, you'd remember the year, wouldn't you? |

Maybe that is why Palin resigned as Governer. To focus her energy and time to train for the Boston marathon in 2010. If she were a true runner, and with extra
time not being Gov. she could do it.

I'm always critical of an office-holder (whether it be governor, senator or congressman) who keeps their office while running for another office.
Shouldn't they forfeit their JOB if they want to run for another JOB? Out here in the real world, what would happen if we told our boss, "Hey, I'm
not going to be in the office much the next 12 months, I'm trying to get another job. Hold down the fort for me, just in case I don't get this other
job. Because, then I'd like to come back to this job."

Yea, I never really understood that. We're supposed to be a government of the people but just think, if someone is a Congressman running for the
Presidency, we're paying them over $100,000 a year to campaign. There is nothing that obligates them to ever vote on a bill besides their own interests.
They technically never really have to show up to vote on a bill. Sounds like we're the ones being used by the government. It's crazy that there
isn't a limit to the number of terms you can serve in the House or Senate. Once you get voted in, just spend 5% of your time representing your constituency
and the other 95% of your time campaigning. That way somebody supporting a family who's making $60,000 a year working a 9-5 never has a chance of ever
winning a campaign. Unless of course he inherited great wealth or has a prominent last name.
