That's really too bad since she had a great season. Was it the flu bug or some other ailment?

I heard she just quit and we saw her walking. She did not cross the finish line.

...There were several things that all came together for Ashley to have one bad race of the year, and this was it. Based on what I've been told, she was
physically ready to run but some nervousness, high expectations put on her, change in her routine, and the tough conditions of the course probably all played a
part.
Ashley is now looking forward to competing in the state cheerleading finals with the Warsaw squad and then on to track. |

I think she had a remarkable year, considering she is only a freshman. I had the good fortune to see her run twice, once at the Northrop Invitational and again
at the New Haven Invitational.

I'm not sure what "considering she is only a freshman" is supposed to mean. Tapring Goatee of Terre Haute North is also "only a
freshman"...AND she's the 2009 IHSAA State Cross Country Champion!

Stress affects everyone differently. She'll be back and much more experienced.
